GENERAL

Can I choose my own package?

Absolutely. Our team will gladly help you create a package that bests suites your interests, time and budget.

What is the size of your Safaris groups?

Our sizes vary from trip to trip. However, we consider your level of comfort, safety and enjoyment before we determine on the size of your group.

When should I book  my trip?

We recommend booking as far in advance as possible. This is so that we ensure availability of the services inclusive. Most importantly for travelers to have all the required permits for the wildlife experience.

Can I use my credit card to purchase my package and or during my trip?

Absolutely. We accept most major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express. However, we recommend that visitors come prepared to use cash as it is the easiest and most preferred form of payment around the country.

What extra costs can I expect when traveling around Uganda?

All safari packages include accommodation, meals, water, safari permits, guides and transportation.

Extra costs may include; gratuity for your tour guides, drivers any alcoholic beverages, laundry services, phone calls, souvenirs and anything not included in your package.

How much should I tip?

Gratuity is not a requirement, but it is highly appreciated by your service providers. We recommend a range of 10-15% of your bill as gratuity.

Are Airfares and documents included in the Safari package?

NO. Prices reflected on your safari packages do not include any airfare; rather, your accommodation, transportation and park permits. Riddick Safaris will gladly offer you advice and recommendations on how to obtain entry visas, as well as other necessary documentation.

Can I extend my stay?

Of course you may. At an additional cost, our team will be happy to assist you organize your extended stay in Uganda.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Are Safaris safe in Uganda?

Your safety is a top priority for Riddick Safaris, so we always stay aware of your surroundings. Additionally each one of our Safari destinations provide armed security for your protection while you tour through the wildlife game parks and ranges.

What about vaccination?

Given the high risk of yellow fever in Uganda, currently requires travelers over the age of nine months to be vaccinated prior to entry. In addition, travelers are encouraged  to visit WHO and or their countries’ health information websites for specific vaccine recommendations. Visitors from the United States should visit the CDC website for specific health information pertaining to their travel.

Is it okay to drink the water?

We advise our guests to drink bottled water throughout their stay in Uganda.

FOOD

Is food and drinks all included in my package?

Your safari packages will include the main meals. However, alcoholic beverages will be paid by you.

Are special diets accommodated?

Unfortunately Riddick Safaris is unable accommodate any  vegan or gluten-free diets. However, vegetarian and diabetic friendly diets can be available upon request. We strongly advise that our guests plan ahead and accordingly.

WILDLIFE

What sort of animals will I see on my safari to Uganda?

This will depend on the type of package you choose. However, given the variety of animals in these parks; you will most likely see Gorillas, Chimpanzees,

Antelopes, Buffalos,  Hippopotamus, Leopards, Lions, Reptiles, Giraffes, Spotted Hyena, Warthogs, primates and different species of birds and many more!

WEATHER

How is the weather like?

Uganda has a warm tropical climate with some humidity. Temperatures typically range from 25 degrees to 29 degrees Celsius, excluding mountainous areas which are much cooler.

What clothes do I wear on a safari in Uganda?

Informal and casual dressing is appropriate. On a safari, neutral colors like khaki and ideal tops, shorts and trousers. A fleece or light cardigan or sweater is useful for the early morning when there’s a chill in the open vehicles and in the evening as well. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes preferably tennis shoes.
